A useful distinction
Smooth, ribbed or brushed can be useful descriptions of a textile’s appearance and feel. They do not establish how the product will perform in every wash or use. Observations should remain connected with the actual garment and viewing conditions.
Put it into practice
Write a concise texture note and pair it with the available label information. If comparing items, use the same descriptive method. Do not infer breathability, flame performance or medical suitability from texture alone, and leave missing technical information unconfirmed.
