A useful distinction
Children can be interested in patterns, stories, drawing or construction in many combinations. An activity can be offered through those interests rather than a fixed assumption about identity. Preference in one moment is not a permanent category.
Put it into practice
Present appropriate options and observe the response without forcing an interpretation. Use the actual product instructions and responsible adult judgement. Write notes about the activity itself rather than publishing a child’s private profile or making guaranteed claims about future abilities.
